Frequently Asked Questions
01 What is a professional bike fitting?
A professional fit is completed by a person qualified in the science of fitting and uses the correct tools, working with the athlete to achieve a perfect fit for the frame and components to suit the rider (not the other way around).
The process usually takes an hour or more and includes:
an extensive interview to determine riding style and goals;
measuring the rider's current bicycle;
recommendations for adjustments to current bike, or measurements for a custom bike.
The rider's position is altered to generate the highest bio-mechanical power output and efficiency, while at the same time maintaining comfort.
The process starts at the foot and works its way to the ankle, knee, hip, back, neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist and ending up at the hands to make sure each is in the right place for both comfort and power. It is important to have constant feedback between the cyclist and the fit technician to get the most out of the session.
